ISO Certified

QUALITY SYSTEM

Danaos has a fully functional Quality System that conforms to the ISO 9001:2008 standard.

Danaos implemented a fully certified QMS system in April 1999 which conformed to the requirements of the ISO 9001:2000 standard. Today the Danaos ISO system conforms to the ISO 9001:2008 standard.

The implementation of the Danaos quality policy relies on the individual responsibility of each member of the organization to comply with the Quality Policy. The Quality & Administration Manager is the first in line to apply this quality policy to the whole organization. The Quality Manual (QM), which specifies the quality system requirements, helped demonstrate the capability of Danaos to supply services that are up to the required quality level.

Danaos has also adapted its own commercial software for use as a “task manager”, to follow-up and implement customer enquiries. Using the Task Manager as an online monitoring system, helps the company to meet all our quality goals and provides a very efficient way of recording and dealing with customer requests.

With the system being fully implemented and continuously tested by annual and renewal assessments, the benefits are becoming clear. One major benefit is the well-defined communication structure, both internally and externally, plus a defined organizational structure where everybody has a defined role and responsibility.

Another benefit is that clients are provided with an efficient customer service monitoring process, with the ability to pinpoint problems and queries.

Quality Assurance is not a marketing tool; it is rather a way to think and the best way to achieve benefit for everyone involved.               <Previous
